Welcome Friends!

"It's vital to be GROWING through your life rather than going through your life." Wally Amos

I wholeheartedly agree with Wally! And growth is the very essence of Susiebloom!

We have the capacity to become all that we believe we can be, and there is no time frame. We grow at our own pace, meet ourselves where we're at, and are realistic about our goals while extending ourselves beyond our comfort zones - even just the tinniest bit.

It is far too easy to just go through life, which means not being as present and intentional as we could be. It's easy to get distracted, overly occupied, bogged down, exhausted, and overwhelmed by life, floating without focus, and forgetting our purpose. It doesn't feel good. It's not a space to linger in for too long if we want to be happy and feel fulfilled.

I'm not suggesting that we become hyper focused on constant, relentless improvement either. Being present and intentional often means pausing, slowing down, breathing, seeing, and noticing the here and now and tuning our hearts to what's most important and engaging in that.

When we finally decide to GROW THROUGH LIFE, that's when real blooming begins.

So...how do we do it?

How do we grow through life?

It's a very personal process. It involves a significant amount of self-awareness, as well as a determination to engage in life through a lens of optimism. That doesn't mean simply being positive about things. We can be "optimistic about the future, but realistic about the challenges," Simon Sinek insists. And Michael J. Fox advocates that, "gratitude makes optimism sustainable." I agree with both of them 100%!

Once we've adjusted our attitude to gratitude and we're looking at life with an optimistically realistic perspective, let the self-assessing begin!

Two key questions to start with:

  • What and who do I value most?

  • How do I want to spend my time?

The answers might take some time to surface. Really ponder on this. Pray about it if that's something you do. Meditate on it. Identifying our core values - what matters most to us - then making time for those things in our daily lives brings incredible joy, purpose and peace. That's worth some intentional time and assessment, isn't it? Yes. ;)

Remember, Friend, we are born to bloom. We are meant to grow. We have what it takes to grow through your life and bloom where we're planted.

We're in this together!
