Impossible Gardens

Three papers caught my eye while looking through one of my folders for ideas recently, and not only because of the pink, blue, and purple colors, but the square size, funky writing, whimsical sketches, and fancy edges. They've been in there for years. I don't remember who gave them to me, and sadly, there isn't a name anywhere. I love the message.
"Plant impossible gardens...take the impossibles and make them possible...see what blooms! Amazing things grow beneath the surface."

The idea that we have the power to manifest things that we want, or make impossible things possible, isn't new. Philosophers and scientists have pondered and theorized about it for centuries. It's a fairly common concept today, but I think doubt, fear, discouragement, discomfort, and distraction often dissuade us from believing in our dreams enough to make them a reality. We don't plant the seeds, or if we do, we let them die while they're still in the soil waiting...needing to be nurtured.
As I get older, time feels much more precious and I'm curious about what impossibles I can still make possible. The mind and our thoughts are incredibly powerful. "As a man thinketh, so is he." (Proverbs 23:7) I often feel like I'm living far below my potential and would very much like to change that; tap into a power, like the "force" in Star Wars, and become the hero of my own life. What if we really do have the ability to make our dreams come true with belief, a growth mindset, and hard work? It's worth a try, isn't it?
"What we can or cannot do, what we consider possible or impossible, is rarely a function of our true capability. It is more likely a function of our beliefs about who we are."
Tony Robbins
"So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they become inevitable."
Christopher Reeve
"There is nothing impossible to him who will try."
Alexander the Great
There are many factors that contribute to how things unfold in our lives. Much is outside of our control, but much is possible. Far more than we think. If we truly want something, are willing to work for it and step outside our comfort zones, face our fears, and believe we can accomplish it, then the impossible becomes possible.
We are born to bloom. We all have unique gifts, abilities, and talents to develop, use, and share to make our lives and this world wonderous. In many ways we truly do determine our destiny. We attract what we focus on. We will face many obstacles, setbacks, and challenges. Planting impossible gardens is messy. We get dirty. But, "amazing things grow beneath the surface."
Let's believe. As this year ends and another begins, let's believe that anything is possible... especially with God. Even if pesky doubts persist, let's keep believing. Let's plant our impossible gardens full of our impossible dreams and see what blooms.
We're in this together,
